Yoga4Cancer
Yoga4Cancer is coming to our community
A safe, supportive path toward strength, movement, and confidence.
Cancer treatment may end, but recovery often continues long afterward. Fatigue, reduced strength, limited mobility, balance changes, stress, and a loss of confidence in the body can make returning to movement feel overwhelming.
Yoga4Cancer is an oncology-informed yoga method created specifically for people affected by cancer. Unlike a general yoga class, it recognizes the physical and emotional effects of cancer and its treatments. Practices can be thoughtfully adapted to each participant’s needs, abilities, and stage of recovery.
Support Beyond Treatment
Yoga4Cancer may help participants:
-
Rebuild strength, mobility, and balance
-
Support bone and cardiovascular health
-
Manage fatigue and stress
-
Restore confidence in movement
-
Reconnect with the body in a supportive environment
-
Experience community with others who understand the journey
No previous yoga experience is necessary. Chair-supported and other modifications can be offered to help make movement safe, approachable, and accessible.
Meet Your Instructor
I am Gayle Praechtl, a certified Yoga4Cancer instructor, wellness professional, and breast cancer survivor.
My own journey has included chemotherapy, a double mastectomy with lymph-node removal, radiation, and multiple reconstructive surgeries. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to begin moving again after treatment—and how meaningful it is to have knowledgeable, compassionate support.
By combining specialized Yoga4Cancer training with lived experience, I offer an approach grounded in safety, thoughtful adaptation, genuine understanding, and respect for each person’s individual journey.
Classes are in Development
I am currently working to bring Yoga4Cancer classes to Salisbury and the surrounding community. Class dates and locations have not yet been finalized, but I would love to hear from cancer survivors, patients, and caregivers who may be interested.

An Invitation to Healthcare and Community Partners
I am seeking partnerships with healthcare systems, cancer centers, rehabilitation programs, survivorship services, nonprofit organizations, and community wellness facilities interested in expanding support for people affected by cancer.
Yoga4Cancer can provide a meaningful bridge between medical treatment and long-term wellness. Programs may be offered as a small pilot, ongoing class, survivorship resource, or community outreach initiative, with appropriate participant screening and coordination.
If your organization would like to explore hosting or partnering on a Yoga4Cancer program, I welcome the opportunity to begin a conversation.
Yoga4Cancer is intended to complement—not replace—medical care or rehabilitation. Participants may be asked to obtain clearance from their healthcare provider when appropriate.
